Scientists from Massachusetts Institute of Technology have created modern space-suit called BioSuit which is able to provide to astronauts mobility during their space expeditions.
Idea to create a new suit for cosmonauts belongs to the professor of aeronautics Dava Newman who considers, that old suits are excessively bulky and do not provide sufficient mobility of astronauts in space.
Therefore the new space-suit will provide cosmonauts not only with protection during their expeditions, but it is able also to restore its functions. In a case of decompression, for example, cosmonaut will need only to lay a patch from the special material on the place of a puncture, and the suit will be as a new one.
As to the BioSuit’s oxygen cylinder, it is placed, as well as in an old space-suit, behind a back.
