The Canadian geologists have found out traces of the large meteorite collided with our planet about 1,85 billion years ago. The unique discovery has been found in 497,10 miles from city Sudbury in Ontario province (Canada).
According to geologists, traces of a meteorite have been discovered casually when in May, 2007 in 560 miles from Sudbury geological expedition began its work, however, already during the first researches the scientists have discovered an atypical structure of the soil, a lot of alien chemical compounds, atypical for the given region, and also huge amount of the carbon compounds, that testifies once completely burnt out forest there.
The analysis of the satellite data has shown a crater about 217,48 miles in diameter.
The further analyses have shown that all these features are consequences of meteorite influence on a surface of the planet. According to the radio-carbon analysis, disaster took place approximately 1,85 billion years ago.
