Passengers will be allowed to use mobile devices onboard
As informs influential American edition The Wall Street Journal, the European respective authorities have approved the use of mobile communication onboard system for Airbus planes. This system will allow passengers to use cell phones during the flight, including BlackBerry communicators.
Airbus has declared that passengers from now on can call and accept calls, write e-mail and text messages.
At the same time the planes’ manufacturer noted, that the part of crew engaged in passengers service, can use communication only in a “silent mode”, that is to write sms and e-mail.
Services will be provided by OnAir, which is a joint venture of Airbus and SITA.
Presumably, sending of one text message during the flight will cost for the passenger $0,5.
