Scientist - genetics from the Californian University identified genes in female of a poisonous spider which are responsible for production of a very strong cobweb.
With the help of this gene scientists are going to make materials on the basis of natural structures, as the cobweb of the Black Widow under the characteristics is only half less firm than steel. Besides, add scientists - biologists, it is much more thin and flexible, and stretches very well.
Now scientists managed to make exact DNA fragments which are responsible for creation of a web. And experts add that if they manage to create the modified materials they will find commercial applications in many areas – starting from surgery and up to the space industry.
