Scientists created the system of wireless electric power transfer
Researchers from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have created an effective system of wireless energy transfer.
The experimental device which scientists named WiTricity, consist of two coils of 23,62 inches in diameter with a copper wire, the transmitter connected to an energy source, and the receiver with connected to it incandescent lamp.
In the new device scientists used a phenomenon of electromagnetic waves resonance of low frequency - in this case, 10 MHz.
It is necessary to note, that the idea of wireless electric power transfer is not new, however all development in this area are based on electromagnetic radiation and have not received a wide distribution because of low efficiency owing to dispersion of the most part of energy in surrounding space instead of the directed transfer.
In the new device the MIT professor of physics Marin Soliachich managed to solve a problem of electric power dispersion.
He also adds, that this technology is easy to reproduce and safe for people and pets as the tests have shown, that wireless electric power transfer does not influence the work of credit cards, mobile phones and other electronic devices sensitive to electromagnetic field.
