Swedes have created speaking paper
Scientists from University of Middle Sweden have created the speaking digital paper which reproduces the recorded beforehand sounds in reply to a touch of the user.
Prototype uses the conductors, capable to respond to the pressure and the speakers printed on a digital paper.
Researchers believe, that their novelty can be applied in advertising, in particular, tourist one, and in the future it can be used in products’ packing.
Interactive “high light” of a board is a layer of the digital paper filled with electronics. Conductors respond to a change of the pressure and transfer the data to a microchip with audiofiles. The person hears a sound through the loudspeakers printed on the same paper.
For today such paper is rather expensive in manufacture but its founders search for an opportunity to reduce the price so that advertising boards were simple for changing. Besides in the nearest future they hope to reduce distinctly their child in sizes.
“Our next task is to try to make so that this technology could be used in packing, - says doctor Gulliksson. - One of some interesting ideas is to apply it in packs of cigarettes to warn people about harm for health. And in general, there are many spheres to apply our development”.
