Microsoft Representatives declared the beginning of the open testing of a new server operational system Windows Longhorn. The final Longhorn version is expected not earlier than the second half of 2007.
Microsoft Company expects that the new system will be tested by hundred thousands of experts in the information technologies field. The third Beta-version of the system is available for downloading through the official site of the company .
It is planned, that Windows Longhorn will replace the existing Server 2003 system. Developers promise, that new operational system will have all advantages of Windows Vista with strengthened safety and expanded server functions.
At present there are some Longhorn versions: Standard for small business, Enterprise for the large companies, Datacenter for big databases and file archives and Web Server for Internets-servers.
