Space Adventures Company, engaged in sending of tourists to ISS, received 12 applications for flights. Vice-president of the company Kris Faranetta has told Saturday, “there is a good line; at least, 12 persons”. He has noted also that in the list of potential space tourists are “people of different degree of interest and training for the flight “.
At the moment, he has reminded, the cost of a flight to ISS for the space tourist makes about 25 million dollars. Faranetta has also promised that the name of the next space tourist will be published in the nearest weeks.
Earlier it was informed, that the next flight of the space tourist can be only in 2009 as for 2007-2008 all places on the Russian space vehicles “Soyus” are busy: in the autumn of 2007 the citizen of Malaysia, and in spring of 2008 - the citizen of South Korea. Both of them fly under intergovernmental agreements.
