The mysterious huge hexagon was made out by American scientists on the North Pole of Saturn. According to Daily Mail, opening is made with the help of the cameras established on American Cassini interplanetary automatic station.
The night view of the North Pole surprised researchers - they have descried a strange geometrical figure, exceeding 25 thousand kilometers in diameter. Most likely, this whirlwind formation reaches 60 kilometers in depth of an atmosphere and consists of clouds.
26 years ago Voyager interplanetary station passed similar pictures. Now new high-quality photos in infra-red range not only confirmed the opening, but also forced scientists to draw a conclusion, that such configuration of clouds on Saturn is not accidental.
The hexagon is similar to polar whirlwinds of the Earth, but on Saturn they have for some reason regular form. “This is very strange formation, it has exact geometrical structure and practically equal six sides”, the representative of Jet Movement Laboratory in Pasadena, California, has told.
It is remarkable that there are no regular hexagons on the South Pole of Saturn.
