Scientists submit an unambiguous signal: “Consequences of climate change at global and regional levels are shown already today, but in the future they will be even stronger, and the long way of a human being on the Earth will end a result of thirst and famine on the heated planet “.
Conclusions of the 8-th working group session of the Intergovernmental Commission of experts on the climatic changes, gathered in Brussels under the aegis of the United Nations, do not leave doubts: person’s activity has sped up climate change. According to experts` forecasts, already in two generations time the mankind will face the first scaled disasters. Increase of global temperature on the average by 2 C degrees in 2050-2070 can lead to disappearance of about 20-30 % of vegetative and animal species.
According to scientists` forecasts, climatic changes “will impact strongly such ecosystem, as tundra and northern woods, the Mediterranean zone, coral barriers, coastal areas, hydro resources, dry areas of low and average heights and, at last, health of the person “. To the middle of the current century rivers and hydroresources of theNorthern hemisphere will increase by 10-40 %.
In Africa, from 75 up to 250 million people will face shortage of potable water in 2020.
The polar ice area will be reduced.
More and more people will perish as a result of heat, hurricanes and fires.
