Corporation Intel has created the smallest solid-state storage device in the world - Z-P140, which weight makes hardly more half of a gram, informs edition Ubergizmo.

The sizes of a novelty make 12 x 18 x 1,39 millimeters and do not exceed the sizes of 1-cent coin. Now Z-P140 can contain 2 GB, though developers are going to make 4 GB devices by middle of 2008.

Speed of reading from the new device reaches 40 Mb / second, and recording speed - 30 Mbyte. Service life of Z-P140 makes about 5 years.

Experts believe that the novelty will find the application in portable devices with low power consumption.

It is necessary to note that at the end of March Samsung has announced 64-GB store in the form - factor of 1,8 inches, and in November has presented a new generation of devices.
