The group of German scientists during a research has developed a method which allows to control nanoparticles’ movement in the water and fat environment, directing a way to them.

Scientists headed by Dayang Wang have managed to create nanoparticles which moving between a water and fat solutions can be controlled.

Experts mark, that the new method will find the application in medicine as in an organism nanoparticles should pass from water environments (blood) in fat (a cellular membrane). Theoretically, nanoparticles are entered in blood and with its current are delivered to any part of a body, but blood is a water solution, and cellular membranes - the fat environment. Therefore nanoparticles should be soluble in both environments.

Scientists have managed to realize it - they have attached to gold particles polymeric chains from methyl acrylate with sprigs of polyethylene glycol which remind brushes. These very springs choose an environment where the particle will move.
