Researchers from the Boston University develop the special software which will “translate” brain signals of the person into meaning-bearing words.

Scientists have started the unique development after they have managed for the first time to read thoughts of the person unable to speak.

Eric Ramsay, who eight years ago got into a road accident and lost gift of speech, has been implanted electrodes in the area of a brain responsible for speech functions, and now researchers receive signals which are decoded in words with the help of a computer.

Experts hope that in the near future they will be able to create software which will insonify people’s thoughts.
