In an orbit of 55 Cancri star, located in 41 light years from the Earth, American astronomers have discovered a new planet outside Solar system which enters the system from five planets.

The star 55 Cancri on the weight and age reminds the Sun, and astronomers have already found five planets near it. Just found out planet is a gas one, and according to scientists, it is 45 times heavier than the Earth. On the size and key parameters it can be compared to Saturn only.

Distance from the discovered planet up to 55 Cancri is 117 million kilometers, while from the Earth to the Sun - 149,6 million kilometers. Therefore astronomers do not exclude, that it has satellites with possible water and life.

Astronomers hope to discover new planets near 55 Cancri.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to check up the truth of scientists’ assumptions for a while, as appropriate technologies will appear not earlier, than in some dozens years.

For the time being science knows about 250 outside Solar system.
