In a near-earth orbit there are more than 12 thousand artificial objects - satellites, boost blocks, stages of rockets-carriers and other fragments of space-rocket technical equipment. Most of all space waste products belong to Russia.

About it informed Interfax referring to the publication of one of NASA’s divisions

“As of October, 3 NASA catalogue included 12351 object”, - is spoken in the message. According to the Administration, most of all artificial objects (4310) have the Soviet and Russian origin. From them - 1361 are satellites, and 2949 objects - stages of rockets-carriers, boost blocks and their fragments. At the same time only about hundred of them function. The others do not operate any more.

USA is on the second place after Russia, 4188 objects: 3115 stages of rockets-carriers and fragments of space technical equipment, and also 1073 spacecrafts from which over 400 are working now.

The third place belongs to China - 2631 artificial object: 2568 stages of rockets and fragments of space technical equipment, 63 working and non-working satellites.

France has 362 space object, Japan - 172, India - 141, the European Space Agency - 73. All other countries account for 474 space objects in a near-earth orbit. These are 386 working and idle satellites and 88 stages of rockets-carriers, boost blocks and fragments of space technical equipment.
