The group of American geneticists has declared that they have managed to create the mouse with huge stamina, excellent health, and which lives longer than the congeners, informs Independent.

Professor Richard Hanson from Cleveland University informs that during an experiment they have used enzyme phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase, which is considered to be the turbine engine of an organism.

As a result of the experiment, the bred mice began to eat 60 % more than usual mice, weigh twice as less and live about three years. Some female specimens can give birth in the age of 2,5 years, whereas usual mice do not bring forth after 1 year of life.

In opinion of Professor Hanson, the given experimental approach hardly can be applied to people, however it will allow to understand better the metabolic role of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase and will help to treat oncological diseases.
