Almost 70 % of the largest cities of our planet are under the threat of flooding because of climate warming and increase of World Ocean’s level.
Such data was published in the report of the Washington Research Institute.

Scientists mark that from 33 cities which population will exceed 8 million people by 2015, 21 - “are extremely vulnerable”.

Among them: New York and Los Angeles, Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, Shanghai and Tientsin (China), Alexandria and Cairo, Jakarta, Lagos (Nigeria), Bangkok, Karachi, Calcutta and Mumbai (India).

Besides it, more than 10 % of the Earth’s population living on low-lying lands, risk to suffer from the flooding caused by increase of the ocean’s level.

It concerns first of all China, India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, Egypt, the USA, Thailand and Philippines.
