The orbit is filled up with space waste products
There are more than 20 thousand elements of waste products in a space orbit, declared on October, 22 Vladimir Priklonsky, the deputy representative of Roskosmos in the International coordinating board on space waste.
“These are only accounted elements of waste products, not including invisible from the Earth fractions”, - told Priklonsky, adding that, in his opinion, the space waste can become an obstacle for development of cosmonautics.
He has explained that such space waste as inoperative spacecrafts, stages of carrier rockets, upper-stage rockets and their fragments, flies in orbits from several hundreds up to 36 thousand km. But most of all waste products are in an area of near-earth orbits, which is up to two thousand km.
“Space waste products are terribly dangerous. Now it threaten satellites and the International Space Station, and in the future it can become an obstacle for man-tended missions and start of new spacecrafts”, - noted Priklonsky.
