The Japanese company OMRON, which develops medical devices, has created technology of smile recognition and has presented it at an exhibition CEATEC 2007.

Authors of the technology claim that their development allows to estimate objectively sincerity of a person’s smile. And it is measured evidently - in percentage. Such development may be used by personnel managers as it will allow find whether the employees are smiling with clients.

Company OMRON for a long time conducts development of technology on face recognition. This system has the big future as it can be used for identification of the criminals photographed by cameras of supervision, or for the control of access to the information.

Similar technology is used in a new Sony’s camera - it waits, until all people in the picture starts to smile, and only then makes a shot.
