NASA astronomers using the last scientific data, have made the new catalogue of 14 various types of planets on which theoretically life is possible. Planets in the catalogue differ on weight, diameter, chemical structure and their location in our galaxy.

In department informed, that the catalogue consists of all known types of planets, which are known to the modern science and what are known about processes of formation of star systems and planets, protoplanetary disks, and also possible connections of materials which lead to formation of planets.

For today it is known a little bit more than 250 planets located outside the Solar system. The majority of these planets are hot Jupiters, that is big planets revolving around the stars rather quickly, however such planets can hardly have life as the temperature on their surface is too high (from 300 up to 900 degrees), besides they are gaseous.

But astronomers have also met quite suitable for life systems, which contain water and located on the same distance from the stars, as the Earth from the Sun. In NASA also tell, where it is possible to find inhabited planets.
