Within the framework of American-European project TEAM the group of the American scientists have created surprising device Titan which can make images with the record resolution in 0,05 nano-meters.

Titan has been developed in the American Electronic Microscopy National Center in Berkeley laboratory with direct participation of experts from the American National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, some other organizations, and also from companies FEI and CEOS. The last not only have designed a part of the important systems of the unique device, but actually have constructed a microscope.

The invention of scientists is transmission electronic microscope with aberration changing. It has appeared as a result of mixture of two technologies: an electronic microscope of scanning and transmission types.

It is planned, that in 2008 microscope Titan will be transported to a place of its permanent job - Berkeley National Electronic Microscopy Center, and in 2009 it will be completely tuned, tested and will start work.
