New confirmation of life’s extraterrestrial origin received
The new theory of origin of life in depths of comets was put forward by astrobiologist Chandra Vikramasingh and her colleagues from University of Cardiff. They have supported their theory with results received during flights of space vehicles to comets in 2004-2005.
Researchers assert that radioactive elements in comets can support water in them in a liquid condition for millions years, and presence of some hydrocarbons provides one more important condition favorable for origin of life.
Scientists prove their conclusions by results of space missions Deep Impact and Stardust to comets Tempel 1 and Wild 2 accordingly. In Tempel 1 scientists found a mix of organic and clay particles, in Wild 2 - a number of complex hydrocarbon molecules - potential building bricks of live.
Scientists speak for a long time that the life has been brought to the Earth from space and strictly speaking - already since XIX century. And though this theory is not proved, much speaks well of the given theory. In fact various processes in space, as scientists know, lead to archebiosis and beginnings of some substances necessary for life.
In space (in interstellar space and in dust protoplanetary disks) scientists have already found amino acids, various spirits and saccharose, carbonic gas, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and organic nitric combination, molecular oxygen.
