The office of naval researches (USA) has started the development of new type of the weapon which bases on use of reactive materials - metals, safe separately, but blowing up when mixed.
Developers inform that reactive materials are, as a rule, the metals transformed into a powder, such, as aluminium and the titan. And, for example, if these metals to divide with the help of an insulatinga layer, and in a certain moment to remove it, two metals react and there is an explosion.
Such technology can be used both for defense, and for an attack. For example, shrapnel from the reactive materials can be used for the destruction of enemy rockets or shells at a stage of approach. In their turn, reactive materials are supposed to be used also for the destruction of technical equipment and manpower of the enemy.
It is necessary to note, that this principle is not new in the military science. In 1970th USA created samples of the binary weapon - shells and bombs. Then the question was about the ammunition filled with two chemical agents harmless separately but turning into the poisonous gas when mixed.
